The ICET economic development intern program was developed to support new graduate participation in regional economic development by providing the training, mentorship and work experience required to support a transition into permanent, professional career opportunities in the ICET region.
The program provides recent University graduates with the opportunity to access a high level of professional work experience to refine their communication, project management, research and analytical skills as they build relationships and networks with communities (including Indigenous and rural and remote communities), government and non-profit organizations.
The economic development intern will manage a wide range of self-directed projects, providing direct services to small communities, Indigenous communities and non-profit organizations in addition to providing support for ICET’s core programs and services.
The successful applicant will be provided with economic development training and the opportunity to attend regional economic development networking events. Direct work supervision and mentorship will be provided by ICET staff and expert consultants.
Intern Program
One 8-month paid internship will be available from May to December. The position will be situated at the ICET office in Courtenay, with some travel to communities in the ICET region as required.
Please check back in the spring 2022.
